MISSION
At the Emergency Care & Safety Institute (ECSI), our goals are simple. We want to provide the absolute best training materials available at the lowest prices possible to help you teach others how to save lives. We also strive to eliminate administrative burdens, allowing you to focus on more worthwhile aspects of your job and life. If these simple philosophies are in line with what you expect from a training organization, then ECSI is for you. We provide first aid, CPR, and other emergency care and safety training courses leading to certifications that meet job-related requirements as defined by regulatory authorities throughout the world.

ECSI training courses are offered in association with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) and the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP)—two of the most renowned medical organizations in the world. These organizations provide medical direction to the Emergency Care & Safety Institute and stand behind the content of our training materials and the operation of our organization.

Program Audits & External Review

Picture
Sometimes an extra set of eyes makes all the difference in the world.  There is a trap that many camps experience with all policy, facility and programmatic reviews originating from within.

One Planet Adventures can do more than an external review of your current camp, we can offer options and solutions for developing a safer and more effective program.  While we cannot fix everything, we can offer an unbiased perspective based on years of experience in organized camping and outdoor leadership.

The process is simple.  We will request some information from you regarding policies, procedures, history, State requirements. and past American Camping Association Accreditation visit reports.  At that point we will schedule a site visit, preferably overnight, and do a thorough review of anything that needs to be reviewed on-site.  After the program review and site visit, One Planet Adventures will provide an external review document that will address any discovered issues, prioritize them and offer strategies for correction within 30 days of the visit.

Skills Leadership & Training

One of the most expensive and difficult camp management issues is staff training.  Camp Staff not only are responsible for the care and well being of campers, but also teach skills related to the programming goals of the camp.

One Planet Adventures Leadership Team can develop skills assessment curriculum to maximize staff training, provide documentation of competency and give camp administration piece of mind in knowing that their staff are able to program at the level necessary.

Areas we can offer skills assessment include high/low ropes courses, canoe/kayak & SUP programs, small craft safety, wilderness first aid, wilderness trip programs, environmental education, archery and an array of other other programs.  We will ensure that any area that we do skills assessment in comply with national best practices for those activities.

Consider what staff training already costs?  We can offer competitive training at a price point that keeps you in your budget while elevating your staff competency.

Van Driver & Trailer Safety Training

Transportation continues to be an administrative challenge for outdoor recreation providers with more restrictions on high occupancy vehicles, increased insurance costs and continued media exposure of camp, church and college programs.  Driving to & from sites has a risk level above and beyond virtually any outdoor recreation activities provided by an organization.

One Planet Adventures offers a training package that includes the ECSI Fleet Driver Safety curriculum, training for commonly used high occupancy vehicles (12-15 passenger vans) and trailer towing safety.  We monitor best practices & research from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and developed the only van driver & trailer safety training curriculum for Minnesota State Colleges & Universities system.
